New Regulations In Force - is your contractor up to speed?
In January 2008 the 17th Edition of BS7671 IEE Wiring Regulations was published and the main change will be for rooms containing a bath or shower.
All electrical appliances within a room containing a bath or shower must be RCD protected, and this is to included light fittings, shaver points, extract fans, etc. This is to run alongside a recent regulation which is already in force that states a CPC (Circuit Protective Conductor) of no less than 4mm² is to be installed from a local electrical accessory to the copper pipework within a room containing a bath or shower.
